The demonstration project of utilization of surplus heat from exhausted steam of Shanxi Datang International Yungang Heat and Power Co. Ltd
Project Background
Shanxi Datang International Yungang Heat and Power Co., Ltd. ("Yungang Power Plant") is one of the urban heating sources planned by the City of Datong, undertaking an important role in the city's centralized heating supply.
Technical Solution
The project applies Beijing Keyuan Ruineng Energy-saving Equipment Co., Ltd.'s "district heating system with Co-generation based on absorption heat-exchange (Co-ah system)" technology to recover the exhaust-steam waste heat from the plant's Phase I 2×220MW units and Phase II 2×300MW units, improving the heating capacity and energy efficiency of the power plant. At the same time, it lowers the return-water temperature of the thermal network, providing favorable conditions for the plant to recover more exhaust-steam waste heat.
Project Results
- Heat supply increased: 480MW
- Waste heat recycled per year: 6.7 million GJ
- Heating area increased: 8.6 million square meters
- Standard coal saved per year: 280,000 tons
After completion, the heat supplied from the recovered exhaust steam is equivalent to reducing SO2 emissions by 21,600 tons, CO2 emissions by 718,000 tons, NOx emissions by 10,700 tons, flue dust emissions by 195,000 tons and ash/slag emissions by 127,000 tons per year.
