The demonstration project of the utilization of surplus heat from exhausted steam of the First Combined Heat and Power Plant in Shanxi, Datong
Technical Solution
The project applies "the district heating system with Co-generation based on absorption heat-exchange (Co-ah system)" technology. Two waste heat recovery heat pump units were installed in the Datong No.1 Heat and Power Plant to recycle the exhaust-steam waste heat of the turbines, supplying heat to the shanty town and subsidence area of Datong Coal Mine Group. Meanwhile, absorption heat-exchange units with large water temperature difference were installed in some thermal substations to improve the heat transport capacity of the network.
Project Results
After the retrofit, the heating capacity of the primary station was increased by 49% and the transportation capacity of the thermal network by 38%, meeting the total heating demand of the two districts — 6.38 million square meters.
- Heating capacity increased: 130MW
- Waste heat recycled per year: 1.79 million GJ
- Heating area increased: 2 million square meters
- Standard coal saved per year: 80,000 tons
